PT Nagata Bio Energi's Sukadamai Biogas Project Reduces 121,919 Tons CO₂e Using Palm Oil Waste
PT Nagata Bio Energi has transformed palm oil waste into clean energy through its Sukadamai Biogas Project, operational since August 2020. The project processes an average of 129,331 cubic meters of Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) annually, generating 30,244 MWh of renewable energy and achieving verified emission reductions of 121,919 tons CO₂e from 2021 to 2023. This initiative supports Indonesia's commitment to reduce emissions as per the Second Nationally Determined Contribution (SNDC) announced at COP-30.

The Sukadamai Biogas Project by PT Nagata Bio Energi converts Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) into biogas, producing clean electricity. Operational since August 2020, the facility processes 129,331 cubic meters of POME annually.
It has generated 30,244 MWh of renewable energy, providing stable power to the PLN grid. From 2021 to 2023, the project achieved verified emission reductions of 121,919 tons CO₂e, equating to a reduction of 40,638 tons CO₂e annually. This represents 82% of the target reduction of 147,456 tons CO₂e and aligns with Indonesia's SNDC commitment presented at COP-30.
