PTPN IV PalmCo and PT Renikola to Build 16 Biomethane Plants from Palm Oil Waste
PTPN IV PalmCo and PT Renikola plan to construct 16 new Compressed Biomethane Gas (CBG) plants, utilizing waste from 17 palm oil mills. Groundbreaking is set for early 2027, aimed at advancing renewable energy and creating thousands of green jobs in North Sumatra and Banten.

PTPN III (Persero) through its Sub Holding PTPN IV PalmCo is partnering with PT Renikola to build 16 new Compressed Biomethane Gas (CBG) plants, processing waste from 17 palm oil mills. The project, expected to start in early 2027, aims to enhance renewable energy use and create thousands of green jobs.
The initiative follows a successful pilot project at the Tinjowan palm oil mill in North Sumatra, which began construction in August 2025, targeting full operation by Q4 2026. Each plant is projected to employ 50 to 100 workers during construction, potentially creating 800 to 1,600 jobs across all locations.
