Punjab Government Approves Compressed Biogas Plant in Bagga Kalan with Zero-Pollution Commitment

The Punjab government's expert committee approved the Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant at Bagga Kalan village after the company committed to implementing technological changes to eliminate pesticide and insecticide residues and ensure zero-pollution operation. The committee, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, included experts from multiple fields and representatives from local communities.

During the meeting, Dr. Balwinder Singh Aulakh presented the plant's technological aspects and addressed environmental concerns. Company officials agreed to adopt suggested amendments and aim for carbon neutrality by 2031.

Jain emphasized that CBG plants are classified as green-category industries, adhering to strict environmental regulations, and highlighted the benefits of using paddy straw to mitigate stubble burning. The plant is expected to create local jobs and enhance the rural economy.
