Replacement of 70-Year-Old Gas Pipes in Frinton Underway
Cadent is replacing 1,000 meters of metallic gas pipes in Frinton, starting March 30 and concluding May 25. This upgrade enhances safety and supports environmental goals by reducing methane emissions and facilitating renewable gas integration.

Cadent is replacing 1,000 meters of aged gas pipes in Frinton, with work commencing on March 30 and expected to finish by May 25. The project, which will involve road closures and traffic management, is aimed at upgrading infrastructure that has been in service since the 1950s.
Most households will maintain gas service, with temporary disconnections only for those directly connected to the replaced pipes. The initiative contributes to environmental goals by reducing methane emissions and supporting the transition to renewable gases like biomethane. Coordination with Essex County Council aims to minimize disruption during the upgrade process.
