Romanian Government Discusses Fiscal Measures and Biomethane Production Initiatives
The Romanian Government is set to meet to discuss fiscal-budgetary changes, biomethane production promotion, and other normative acts. Key topics include establishing conditions for wholesale distribution of energy products and amending legislation related to biomethane production, injection, and marketing. Additionally, the Government will address compensation for property owners affected by public utility projects in Gorj County and review appointments and expenditures related to prefects and deputy prefects.

The Romanian Government will convene to discuss several normative acts, including fiscal-budgetary changes and measures to promote biomethane production. The meeting will establish conditions for wholesale distribution of energy products by a joint order from the National Agency for Fiscal Administration and the Romanian Customs Authority.
An emergency ordinance will also be introduced to facilitate biomethane production, covering injection, transport, and marketing responsibilities. Additionally, compensation for property owners at the Tismana I quarry in Gorj County will be increased to accommodate 5,000,000 tonnes of lignite per year. Dismissals and appointments of prefects and deputy prefects will also be on the agenda, alongside discussions on the Government's Legislative Programme for 2026.
