The Sanremo Municipality has approved the remediation project in Valle Armea, necessary for the establishment of a new waste transfer center by Amaie Energia & Servizi Srl. The project is funded by PNRR for modern waste treatment and recycling facilities.
It entails permanent site safety measures, foundation waterproofing, and biogas capture system installation. Positive opinions were received from authorities, including ARPAL and the Province of Imperia, which provided conditions for biogas monitoring and emissions management.
A landscape authorization was granted on February 17, 2026. The approval allows progress to the next phase for the transfer center, crucial for enhancing waste collection in Sanremo.
