Spain Advances Biogas Development with Naturgy, Genia Bioenergy, Suma Capital, and RIC Energy
Spain is making significant strides in biogas development, with Naturgy, Genia Bioenergy, Suma Capital, and RIC Energy spearheading various initiatives. Naturgy has partnered with ID Energy Group to establish at least 20 biogas plants, backed by over €500 million in investments, while RIC Energy is advancing over 20 projects in regions like Andalusia and Extremadura. Additionally, Repsol's acquisition of a 40% stake in Genia Bioenergy has expanded its portfolio to 19 developing plants.

Spain is advancing in biogas development, with Naturgy, Genia Bioenergy, Suma Capital, and RIC Energy leading investments and projects. Naturgy has signed an agreement with ID Energy Group to develop at least 20 biogas plants, with over €500 million in investment and an estimated annual capacity of 1,600 GWh.
The company is enhancing infrastructure for biogas integration into the energy system through contracts with its distributor Nedgia. Repsol's acquisition of a 40% stake in Genia Bioenergy has resulted in a portfolio of 19 developing plants.
RIC Energy is pursuing a comprehensive energy transition strategy, with over 20 projects nearing construction in regions like Andalusia and Extremadura, targeting readiness to build by mid-2026. RIC Energy aims to leverage territorial opportunities into strategic energy assets.
