St1 Biokraft Begins BioLNG Supply to Destination Gotland Ferries
St1 Biokraft has initiated the supply of liquefied biogas (BioLNG) to Destination Gotland for summer 2026. This marks a critical step in the adoption of Swedish-produced biogas in the maritime sector, reflecting a growing local supply chain.

St1 Biokraft has commenced the supply of BioLNG to Destination Gotland for the summer season of 2026. This supply equates to renewable fuel for approximately 30 one-way ferry crossings between Visby and Nynäshamn, with around 10 crossings utilizing Swedish-produced biogas.
The bunkering process is taking place in Visby, in partnership with Avenir. St1 Biokraft aims to enhance its production capacity to supply exclusively Swedish gas to maritime customers in the future. The integration of local biogas into ferry operations demonstrates a significant advancement in the development of a regional energy supply chain.
