Steelpaint Completes Corrosion Protection Project at Biogas Plant in Bremen
Steelpaint has successfully implemented its Stelpant corrosion protection system on a 40-ton crane at a biogas facility in Bremen. This project addresses severe corrosion challenges typical in bioenergy environments, showcasing the effectiveness of specialized coatings in extreme conditions.

Steelpaint has finalized a coatings project at the Nordfuel biomethane plant in Friesoythe, Germany, specifically applying its Stelpant system to enhance corrosion protection on a 40-ton overhead crane. This undertaking involved replacing an existing coating that had degraded due to heavy microorganism-induced corrosion, common in bioenergy operations.
The application partner, Kruse Oberflächentechnik, utilized a two-coat system consisting of Stelcatec-L-PR primer and Stelcatec-L-NT topcoat. Stelpant's unique binder allows application in conditions ranging from -5°C to 50°C with relative humidity up to 98%. The performance of Stelpant in this project reinforces its suitability for aggressive environments, indicating potential for further applications in similar industrial settings.
