Stena Line's acquisition of Wasaline has been officially completed, enhancing ferry operations between Sweden and Finland. The deal, announced on November 4, 2025, included the takeover of the Umeå-Vaasa ferry service.

Following approvals from city councils and regulatory bodies, Wasaline will now operate under Stena Line while retaining its brand. The ferry Aurora Botnia will continue its service with 20-26 weekly departures, utilizing biogas and battery power, marking it as the first international Green Shipping Corridor. This acquisition aims to strengthen transport links crucial for regional business and security.
