Storm Harry damaged Malta's wastewater infrastructure, destroying a sewage pumping station in Marfa and a biogas dome at a treatment plant in Xgħajra. Other pumping stations were also affected, along with seawell rooms near a Reverse Osmosis facility in Pembroke.
WSC engineers are assessing the damage in Marfa, which remains inaccessible. The biogas dome is part of the €85 million Ta' Barkat treatment plant, generating electricity from biogas for sewage treatment. Repairs will commence once sites are safe.
