Strategic Biofuels Receives Draft Class VI Well Permit for Louisiana Green Fuels Project
Strategic Biofuels has obtained a draft Class VI Well Permit from the Louisiana Department of Conservation and Energy, marking a significant step for its Louisiana Green Fuels project. This project includes a 100 MW wood-fired power plant in Caldwell Parish, designed to produce carbon-neutral electricity and permanently sequester CO2. The facility aims to capture over one million tons of CO2 annually, generating high-quality Carbon Dioxide Removal credits for various clients. The final Permit to Construct is expected within approximately 90 days after a public comment period.

Strategic Biofuels has secured a draft Class VI Well Permit from the Louisiana Department of Conservation and Energy for its Louisiana Green Fuels project in Caldwell Parish. This permit is notable as it is the first issued for a project with multiple wells.
The project plans to construct a 100 MW wood-fired power plant that will generate carbon-neutral electricity and capture over one million tons of CO2 annually for permanent storage. The facility will utilize local forestry waste and create over 76 direct jobs. The final construction permit is anticipated within 90 days following a public comment period.
