Toyota to Provide Electrified Fleet for 2026 Hakone Ekiden with Low-Carbon Fuel Solutions
Toyota will provide a fleet of 40 electrified vehicles for the 2026 Hakone Ekiden relay marathon, featuring battery-electric, fuel cell electric, and hybrid vehicles. The hybrid vehicles will use low-carbon E10 gasoline with 10% biofuel, while the fleet will include specialized vehicles for race headquarters, personnel transport, and emergency response. This initiative highlights Toyota's commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.

Toyota will supply a fleet of 40 electrified vehicles for the 102nd Hakone Ekiden relay marathon on 2-3 January 2026. The fleet will include battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), and hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs).
Hybrid vehicles for university teams will utilize low-carbon E10 gasoline, containing 10% biofuel provided by Eneos. The FCEV Century will serve as the race headquarters vehicle, while an FCEV light-duty truck will film leading runners.
FCEV Coasters will transport personnel, and e-Palette BEVs will act as emergency response vehicles. The HEV team management vehicles will be Noah and Voxy models, using E10 derived from non-edible sorghum through a consortium of seven companies, including Toyota and Eneos.
