UNICA and ISMA Sign Agreement to Enhance Bioenergy Cooperation between Brazil and India
UNICA and ISMA signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance collaboration between Brazil and India's sugar-energy sectors. The agreement establishes a platform for knowledge exchange, technological cooperation, and joint biofuel initiatives, including ethanol and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
This partnership aims to reinforce efforts under the Global Biofuels Alliance and aligns with a commitment to quadruple sustainable biofuel use by 2030. The signing occurred at the Brazil-India Business Forum in New Delhi, highlighting the potential for cooperation in integrating biofuels into global clean energy chains. Both countries are significant ethanol producers, and the agreement aims to enhance the role of ethanol in decarbonizing transportation while fostering regulatory cooperation.
