U.S. Investors Visit Liberia to Explore Opportunities Under ARREST Agenda
A U.S. investor delegation, led by Ambassador Gurly Gibson Schwarz, is visiting Liberia to explore investment opportunities aligned with President Joseph Boakai's ARREST Agenda, which focuses on sectors such as agriculture, education, and renewable energy. Meetings with government officials, including Vice President Jeremiah Koung, have highlighted the importance of local content laws and the need to protect Liberian businesses. The delegation plans to meet with President Boakai before concluding their week-long mission.

A U.S. investor delegation is in Liberia for a week-long mission to identify investment opportunities across key sectors. The mission, led by Ambassador Gurly Gibson Schwarz, aims to support President Joseph Boakai's ARREST Agenda for 2025-2029, focusing on Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism.
Additional sectors include technology, infrastructure, critical minerals, renewable energy, real estate, security, ports, logistics, and transportation. The delegation has met with Vice President Jeremiah Koung and other officials, discussing potential projects in agriculture, bioenergy, and healthcare.
Dr. Nyaquoi Kargbo emphasized the need for local content laws, while Dr. MaryAnn Woods-Osifo aims to invest in healthcare and forestry.
VP Koung highlighted the importance of protecting Liberian businesses and ensuring local benefits from investments. The delegation will meet with President Boakai before concluding its visit.
