US Provides $10 Million to North Macedonia for Antimony Mining and Cybersecurity
The US government has allocated $10 million to North Macedonia, with $5 million directed toward antimony mining and $5 million for cybersecurity initiatives. This support aims to enhance the country’s critical mineral supply chains and bolster national security infrastructure.

The US International Development Finance Corporation has committed $5 million to restart antimony mining in North Macedonia. Additionally, $5 million is designated for cybersecurity and digital security enhancements to strengthen national defense capabilities.
Research indicates that antimony deposits exist in three locations in North Macedonia: near Kriva Palanka, in the village of Lojan, and in the Kozhuf mountains. A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed in Washington to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from the US, with infrastructure expected to be completed by the end of 2027. This LNG is intended to support the construction of a gas-fired power plant in North Macedonia, signifying strategic energy initiatives.
