Uttar Pradesh Signs MoUs Worth ₹13,000 Crore at WEF 2026 for Waste-to-Energy, CBG, and Steel Projects
Uttar Pradesh's government delegation signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth approximately ₹13,000 crore during Day 3 of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos. Led by Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna, the delegation engaged with organizations including Tech Mahindra, Grundfos, and Schneider Electric.
Key agreements include REC Ltd's MoU for 500 MW of agriculture waste-to-energy projects, with an investment of ₹8,000 crore, and Rashmi Metallurgical's ₹4,000 crore commitment to a 1 MTPA integrated steel plant. Additionally, Carbon Compass Services LLP plans to invest ₹820 crore in briquetting and compressed biogas plants, while Renergy Dynamics will establish CBG plants processing 70 tonnes per day. These initiatives support Uttar Pradesh's green growth, circular economy, and industrial development strategy.
