Van Oord Begins Construction of Two Flexible Fallpipe Vessels
Van Oord has initiated the construction of two flexible fallpipe vessels, with the first expected to launch in 2028. This investment aligns with the increasing global demand for offshore energy infrastructure protection.

Van Oord has commenced the construction of its first flexible fallpipe vessel, marking a significant milestone with the cutting of the initial steel piece. The vessel is scheduled for market entry in 2028, followed by a second vessel within a year.
Both vessels are designed with an advanced flexible fallpipe system for high-precision rock installation, essential for safeguarding offshore cables and pipelines. Additionally, the vessels will incorporate multi-fuel engines utilizing biofuels and methanol, alongside energy-efficient designs, aiming to contribute to reduced emissions and a transition to a net-zero fleet. This development responds to the rising need for enhanced protection of offshore energy assets.
