VORN Bioenergy Launches First Biogas Plant in Ferrara, Italy, Financed by ING
VORN Bioenergy announces the financing of its first biogas project in Ferrara, Italy, marking a strategic expansion into the Italian, Spanish, and Polish markets. The project is funded through a flexible project financing structure, allowing VORN to secure additional financial support for future developments while engaging new investors.
The Ferrara plant is designed to produce 8.5 million Nm³ of biogas annually, sufficient to meet the thermal needs of approximately 7,000 households. It will utilize 60-70% livestock waste and 30-40% renewable raw materials.
Once operational, the facility will create about 10 direct jobs and 20 direct and indirect jobs through service providers. VORN will manage the plant independently and is developing further projects in Italy, supported by national funding initiatives.
