Woodstock Finance Committee Approves Wastewater Upgrades and New Trash Rates
Woodstock's Finance Committee has recommended a $144,208 contract for wastewater treatment plant upgrades, addressing critical equipment failures. The planned modernization includes a full replacement of the control system, funded by reallocating existing capital improvement funds.

The Woodstock Finance Committee has advanced a $144,208 contract with Sherwood-Logan for a complete upgrade of the wastewater treatment plant's programmable logic controller system, essential due to the failure of parts no longer supported by their manufacturer. Funding will come from $390,100 identified in capital improvement funds from projects that will not be completed this fiscal year.
The committee also approved new trash collection rates effective July 1, lowering the monthly rate from $17.75 to $14.85 but adding biweekly curbside recycling for an additional $7.50, resulting in a net increase. Furthermore, a $1.5 million allocation for a joint municipal office and police department facility was included in the five-year capital improvement plan, moving the project forward ahead of scheduled financing. These initiatives reflect strategic reallocations aimed at addressing immediate infrastructure needs while managing budgetary constraints.
