Country Crest Secures Approval for Dublin Anaerobic Digestion Facility
Country Crest has received planning permission for an anaerobic digestion facility in Dublin, aimed at producing renewable biomethane gas. The facility will utilize various feedstocks and is projected to process over 70,000 tonnes of organic materials annually, contributing to the National Biomethane Strategy.

Country Crest has been granted planning permission by An Comisiún Pleanála for an anaerobic digestion facility in Dublin, following an overturned refusal from Fingal County Council. The facility will mainly process 24,500 tonnes of grass silage annually, alongside poultry manure and cattle manure, totaling a maximum feedstock volume of 70,110 tonnes per year.
The project aims to generate renewable biomethane for the national gas grid, supporting sustainable agricultural practices. Concerns raised by local objectors regarding visual and environmental impacts were addressed by ACP, which concluded that the facility would not adversely affect the surrounding community. The development aligns with Country Crest's commitment to sustainability and efficient waste management.
